Overbite
Due to an underdeveloped upper jaw, the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth causing a large gap between them. This makes certain parts of the jaw more susceptible to injury and causes enamel erosion.
Invisalign helps to close these gaps with a customised course and align the teeth as much as possible.
Underbite
Quite opposite to an overbite, an underbite occurs when the lower teeth overlap the upper teeth, usually caused by an overdeveloped lower jaw. This affects one’s ability to speak, chew and can cause enamel erosion as well.
These issues can be fixed and improve overall appearance with Invisalign depending on how pronounced the underbite is. A child with a developing jaw would be the perfect time to correct this issue.
